The ideal of American democracy at the forefront of American beliefs and foundations is undoubtedly citizen participation in politics. A single vote represents a belief in a system where all individuals can participate and grow from democratic principles and beliefs. Getting involved in this very democratic process I helped encourage voter turn out at SMU and informed individuals of potentially impact full propositions like that of the sale of alcohol in university and highland park. This process taught me about democracy at work and unfortunately the lack of knowledge in local elections. So I attempted to forum this blog as means to encourage individuals to become active, you never know how much a small impact can mean for a single individual.
